Release of 13 October 2026: Connectors

Production Version 5 (13 October 2026)

What is new

A new Connectors page

The ... menu next to New Hooq now has two items, Getting Started and Connectors. The older Settings entry is gone. The Cross-Instance Connectors page lists your connectors with New Connector, Reload and Back to Hooq. Each row has Open and a ... menu with Activate (or Reconnect) and Delete. Delete asks for confirmation inside the page.

Connect two instances with small files

A connector now has its own page with three tabs: Share your public key, Connector file and Activate. You download your public key as a small file (<subdomain>.hooqkey) and send it to your partner. Your partner makes a connector file (<from>-for-<to>.hooqconnector) and sends it back. You upload it, save it and activate. You can still copy and paste the key and the code if you prefer. After you activate, your partner gets an Active connector for you without doing anything more.

Hooq checks every file: it must be under 16 KB and plain text, and Hooq reads the content and not the name. It warns you when a file is older than 5 minutes, was made for another instance, or does not match its name.

Unfinished connectors are saved

A connector in progress is saved as a Draft. You can leave and continue later from the list. You can have up to 5 drafts.

One connector per partner instance

Hooq now refuses a second connector for a partner instance that already has one, and tells you which row to use instead.

Getting Started page and the Hooq header

Hooq has a Getting Started page inside the app: three steps, why Hooq fits into your Jira, links to the documentation and the support portal, and links to the Privacy Policy, Trust Center and Status pages. Configure Connector and Go to Hooq on Jira's Get Started page open the pages inside Hooq. Jira's own page title is gone, and the Hooq header is on every page. An address ending in ?section=connectors opens the Connectors page directly.

The word instance

Hooq now says instance where it used to say site, for example Partner instance and Connect your instances.

Known limitations

  • Both instances must run the current version of Hooq. Connecting instances that run different versions is not supported.
  • One connector per partner instance, and up to 5 unfinished connectors.
  • The Documentation item in the menu of a Hooq still shows a message that a link will be available soon. Use this help centre.
