Publish and start

A Hooq only works from its published configuration, and only while it is running. So there are two last steps: publish, then start.

Publish and start

  1. Open the Hooq and select the Configuration tab. A new Hooq is shown in the Draft view.

  2. Select Publish Draft.
You should see: the message Draft published. and the view changes to Published.

  3. If the header still says Publish this Hooq before starting the sync. and Start Hooq is grey, reload the page and open the Hooq again.

  4. Select Start Hooq once.
You should see: Starting..., then STATUS: RUNNING, a red Stop Hooq button and the Sync Health numbers.

Change a published Hooq

  1. On the Configuration tab, select ..., then Edit Configuration. This starts a draft; the published configuration keeps working.

  2. Change the tabs you need in the Draft view.

  3. Select Publish Draft to make the changes live, or Discard Draft to drop them.

The same ... menu has Import Configuration and Export Configuration.

Stop a Hooq

Select Stop Hooq in the header. A stopped Hooq does not sync. Start it again with Start Hooq. If a licence message appears instead of the Start button working, ask your site administrator to check the Hooq licence.

Common mistakes

  • Changing a tab and forgetting to publish: the Hooq keeps using the old published configuration.
  • Expecting existing work items to be copied when you start. See FAQ.
